Panels is turned from a lovely piece of Ash burr.
This hollow form is shaped like a vase which has three exposed faces so the wood can also be seen in it’s natural state.
Panels as I’ve called it, has has many layers of spirit stain applied. This was done so that the stains sunk in to the natural burr at different levels, which gives a real deep effect to the wood.
The finish has a glass type look to it as again there have been many layers of finish applied to create this. Once done the finish has been buffed.
You can see from this video a better look at the effect. Standard pictures just not do justest to this stunning looking Ash burr.
Panels stands around 390mm tall with a diameter of around 210mm.
The lip and foot of this work as been left natural with a bead turn so that it blends with the exposed wood panels.
